13.0 North East Field
In the foreground on the right is a small but prolific mulberry, moving left a group of persimmons that circle around behind and to the right. The pine in the background is on the neighbour's property. Behind the row of pines along the driveway is the northeast field, which can't be seen here, though the trees at the far end can be seen.
North east field is still mostly open
The middle part is one of the two places where rocks are near the surface and there is a grove of red cedar (juniper) coming up. Also a number of black locusts that seem to lose branches frequently.
Looking southwest from northeast part of northeast field.
The northeast field is the only place with rocks near the surface, not the deep loess elsewhere. It is being colonized by volunteer red cedars. What will the outputs be from a grove of these juniper trees?
