Roads and Paths
The road and path system are detailed under area 27 in the garden book. At this moment they include:
27.0-Map
27.1-PathBuilding
27.2-CedarForestPath
27.3-EastWoodsPath
27.4-NorthFieldPath
27.5-PineForestPath
27.6-UpperPondPath
27.7-ForestEdgePath
27.8-CentralForestPath
27.9-LowerPondPath
27.10-ForestCreekPath
27.11-SouthwestForestPath
27.12-SouthernBorderPath
27.13-EasternBorderPath
27.14-NorthernBorderPath
27.15-BarnRoad
27.16-WorkshopRoad
27.17-WellServiceRoad
The driveway is the only real road, but there are also paths that need to be wide enough to get a vehicle, such as a well digging truck, around the other side of the house. Plus back to the workshop and barn.
The previous plan did not take into account using the paths as officially certified forest bathing paths, so this gallery will soon be getting photos annotated with ideas and suggestions o how to accomplish the roads and paths for a place the public can come visit on a reservation basis to walk the paths with a guide or without once trained and certified themselves.
This map needs to be redone to handle persons of varying aility. At least the paths on the east or right side of this photo. The driveway is gravel and good and solid. The tracks going to the barn and workshop and just dirt, as is the places where big trucks need to go, such as to service the well. Not all of these paths exist, and I doubt I can find very many of the observation point markers.
The image has apparently disappeared
This was a photo of a log on some saw horses. I still have the original, but smugmug has apparently lost it. Marked 4" wide cuts to be used as round wood path fillers to go with the western red cedar pieces that I'm using on the wester garden path. It took five of us to lift it up and put it on these sawhorses. The rounds were treated with water proofing stuff and had rotted out by the next spring... Wood used in paths needs to be supper resistant like western red cedar, but even then the path needs to drain under them.
