Slippery Elm, Ulmus Rubra

One by the top of the forest path, one over by the west parking area.
This tree just to the north of where the path goes into the forest behind the workshop. Couldn't get the cell phone to focus on the bloom, and found it very difficult to show the tree the branch belongs to. What puzzles me is the cut end of the branch. It's at least 3 meters up, but I would have cut it with my regular clippers, which can't reach that high, even with a jump. It would have been a good meter lower when I cut it. Two possible explanations: the branch was bowed down heavily with the grape vine that is growing on it or the branch split from the trunk moved up the trunk. I've read that the latter doesn't happen, that a branch remains at the level it comes out of the trunk. However, in this case, it's a very clear trunk split into two almost equal trunks, one going up and the other out.
