Souvenir left by a largish member of the rat patrol.
Very rarely does a wild goose land here. None of the fields or ponds are as large as they prefer.

Flying cat. He made it just fine. This guy, Oliver, comes with me almost every time I go outside.

Found while digging outside foundation to where water line comes in from well.
The Upper Pond at Mt. Pleasant after a 5 inch or so snowfall. I suspect the drawing on the pond was made by wood ducks swimming in it when it was between slush and frozen.
I don't know if a nude deer model is cheaper than a human model or not. For one thing, the deer models eat the young pine trees. For another thing, they are very difficult to book for a shoot. And then rarely co-operative.

Visiting the site
the board this spider is on is 4 inches wide.
visiting cat hiding in the bushes -- except to my eyes very obviously white. My cat Oliver came over, smelled something, but apparently couldn't see the other cat.
It was above freezing, but not much.

first day of Spring
posing for me as I paused to photograph. I wonder how many of these actually live here year round? I see quite a few throughout the winter.
This catepiller nest I thought was gypsy moth. I seem to recall masses looking like this in Virginia that I was told were gypsy moths. However, the images I found on line don't show this kind of nest thing, and the close ups of the catepillers have more colors along the back. We get these every year, sometimes a lot of them, sometimes just a few. They can strip a tree bare, but not always. When there are a lot of them, I will go around and pull these masses out of the trees and toss on ground.
