TerrainWork March2016
The main one is the digging of another hugulkultur type permaculture bed to be filled with logs and turned into long term garden beds.
In support of gardening, the area around the spigot and well is well on its way to a nice working area.
Me and the caulk guns simply don't get along. I don't have the hand strength to get a bead to come out. Or perhaps the tubes that Allen gave me were old. Some had been opened and used a bit already. These two tubes did have an easy to work with mud, unlike the previous three, which had lots of lumps of arlready solidified silicone. So lacking the gun, I simply cut the end off with a hack saw, and then shaped a couple pieces of wood to use as the aplicator tools. Worked ok. However, Allen did day to cover all the way up to under the lower bar, using a spreader. Maybe tomorrow or the next nice day.
clearing south side of workshop
Large pile of scrap metal was overgrown with trees. One of them went through and strangled itself and fell last winter, fortunately away from the workshop. Cut it up today and moved pieces over to kitchen garden for beds. As per usual, the cutting only took a half hour or so, but gather the saw and cord and sharpening the saw took another good half hour of walking back and forth and taking the mower wagon over to front of studio and back. Then, after cutting it all up into 4 and 5 foot lengths, loading into the wagon and carrying it over to the kitchen garden and unloading it there. Then parking the mower in the shed and putting the tools away.
