The early pollen eaters seem to be a bit sloppy, leaving a lot of crumbs.
Ulmus rubra, the slippery elm, is a species of elm native to eastern North America. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ulmus_rubra A search on "slippery elm flowers" brings up a lot of very similar flower pictures.
