Mobiles and house work
Read MoreRoom 1 east wall done. This one has 2x6 stud wall and fiberglass with paper cover with osb screwed or nailed over it. The north wall has the wood based insul from lowe's and will need a vapor barrier under the osb. That blue stuff is the denim based insul. Very difficult to cut at all, let along cleanly.
Mobile 14 repaired and renewed
Strong winds (30mph gusts) blew all put one of the lower pieces off. nothing broke, hadn't closed the loops all the way. Put in swivels and tightened things up.
Finally reassembled about like it was before. some of the places where I used 16 guage brass wire as connectors came loose or in one case broke. Both single strand and twisted double strnds. Actually, I thnk the twisted ones did more bending out of shape. The single ones with long hooks or tight circles worked ok.
working on north wall of room 1
Wood based insulation cut and put in wall. Needs a vapor barrier and this stuff is handy. It's probably R15 by itself, it was used as the vapor barrier and insulation directly under the tin roofing. This will have to be covered with something stiff, thin plywood or even the same OSB piees i'm aleady using.
Out smarted myself. Though if I set up a workshpace outside the dust generated using the belt sander (collection bag failed within the first few hours of operation) that maybe the windy conditions would whip it away. Instead it swirled in all directions in this location covering my face and clothes with very fine oak dust.
mobile 36, Sycamore leaves and feather
Anna likes this one, likes how it is nicely balanced and moves well. 4 large sycamore leaves (snow cured ones), a couple of feathers and a piece of driftwood hanging in 3 layers from a top level of red cedar and middle levels of wisteria vine.
