Churchill Clark, descendent of the Clark who explored the Missouri river a couple hundred years ago, makes canoes from trees by carving them. The finished canoe shown is one he paddled from the head of the Missouri river to Cooper's Landing, where he has set up a canoe building camp to use one of the huge cottonwoods that grow along here.
