The Ent
Walking down the path off the bottom end of Moon Meadow, I met this tree, an Ent. The Ent told me it had retired, but it was quite talkative anyway, grabbing my attention and my camera. The pose, I was informed, tells the life story, if you can work out the reasons for the angles and bends of trunk and branch.
A bit closer to the Ent, May 29, 2004
I'm not sure what the Ent was saying, but its eyes followed me as I approached closer to look at the story told by the trunk and branches.

The camera records all the light and sometimes examining different aspects of the light we can see things the eyes miss.
The Ent returns to the earth, July 2016
It took a bit of wind to encourage the Ent to recline in final repose, hosting all sorts of new life in and around the final resting place.
The final resting place is lush and green
