Sunrise, Sunset, Moon and Rainbows
Cat Portrait by the lower pond
Here I want to expose for the sun, so that it looks like the orange ball I could see.
The sky is colored with the dust from a tornado
On 22 May, 2011, a tornado touched down in Joplin, about 100 miles south west of where this photo was taken. The remnants of that storm traveled over head near sunset.
Solstice Moon, Jupiter and Venus
Magical alignment over the bald cypress grove, the moon, jupiter and venus. Camera on a tripod, I shot a series of 7 photos and here selected two images to merge. The moon shot was 1/90th sec at F8, ISO 100. The trees, planets and clouds, 6 seconds at f8, ISO 100 and shadows and blacks boosted.
The late November full moon looks down on trees beginning their winter sleep, having laid down a blanket of leaves. Some of the trees, like the bald cypress and the willow are hanging on to their colored leaves, while some of the refugees from asia, the bush honey suckle and the winter green (euonymus) are hanging on to green still, outlasting the natives.
