Mobile 1, 3 piece mobile sunset
Where is started. A piece of driftwood on top and a pair of wisteria vine sections below.
Although this one will move a bit when the wind is over 2 or 3 mph, it won't move much until it gets gusts over 10 mph due to the weight of the pieces. Also, the pieces can be rearranged fairly freely without upseting the balance of the top piece much. This current arrangement produces the best sounds.
Mobile 14, Oak and LED butterfly
Trimmings from the big oak tree with a solar powered LED butterfly. Solar panel worked even through the snow covering.
This is a very large one, needing a circle about 13 feet in diameter and a space nearly 10 feet tall. Too heavy to mount or dismount without disassembly, but fortunately the exact placement of the veritcal pieces is not critical, several arrangements work. This one is fun to interact with, trying to walk through without touching while it is moving, for example.
Mobile 17, The Cat and the Dragon
Driftwood and bush honeysuckle root
Mobile 18, bark gator and fish
Bark from the local forest. (lowest piece had to be replaced, this is the from before it broke off)
Mobile 23, Old man and the twigs
I liked having this hanging where I can brush up against it, the twigs make a nice gentle rattling sound. However, the twigs will catch loose clothing or hair.
